On-Site Interactive Experience with 1, 2, or 3 Animals
Enjoy a 40-minute immersive and interactive experience inside the enclosures, where you’ll have the opportunity to play with, hold, and snuggle animals such as a raccoon, opossum, or fennec fox — it’s totally up to you!
One animal – 40 minutes inside one enclosure
Two animals – 20 minutes in each enclosure
Three animals – 13 minutes in each enclosure

On-Site Mini Private Tour + Meet 4 Animals
This one-hour private guided viewing tour takes you through the Chinchilla Room, Reptile Barn, the compound, Raptor Mews, and the animal food prep area. Afterward, enjoy an up-close meet & greet with 4 selected animals of your choice at our presentation area — with opportunities to touch, hold, and interact.
Rate: $175.00 per person

On-Site FULL Interactive Private Tour of the Sanctuary – Meet All 50 Animals
Join us for a 2-hour immersive private guided tour through the Chinchilla Room, Reptile Barn, the compound, Raptor Mews, and the animal food prep area. You’ll meet all 50 of our resident animals, with hands-on opportunities to interact with 43 of them (excluding the raptors). Depending on the species, many can be held!
Get up close and personal with snakes, lizards, chinchillas, pigs, goats, great horned owls, a wolfdog, a Jindo, opossums, red-tailed hawks, a kookaburra, a barn owl, a savannah cat, and more. You’ll also get snuggle and playtime inside the raccoon and fennec fox enclosures!

School Visits
Bring Wildlife Learning to Your Classroom!
A love for animals and nature starts early. At Critter Encounters in San Diego, we help nurture that curiosity with fun, interactive animal presentations designed for schools and classrooms.
All programs are grade-appropriate and aligned with California State Science Standards.
Our one-hour school assemblies and classroom programs feature five to six exotic animals, offering hands-on learning about habitats, adaptations, and species-specific natural history. We also include simple conservation tips, all delivered in an engaging, up-close presentation style that sparks a love for science and learning.
Presentations can be kept general or customized to match your current curriculum, with themes such as habitats, adaptations, conservation, and other topics that align with grade-specific California Science Standards.
Students will have the chance to touch most animals, making the experience unforgettable and meaningful.
Please schedule your program two to three weeks in advance. A deposit is required 10 days before the event, and final payment is due after the program.
